Prep Time 5 minutes | Servings 1


  • 1/3 cup quinoa flakes
  • 2 tablespoons black chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower meal
  • ¼ teaspoon all spice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup water or sunflower seed milk (see below recipe) or Australia’s Own pea protein milk
  • 1 small grated green apple
  • ¼ tablespoon of vanilla powder or chopped mint leaves (Optional)
  • Mixed berries and fresh mint leaves for garnishing


  1. In a bowel or wide glass jar, add the quinoa, seeds, grated apple and spices. Top with water, sunflower seed milk or pea protein milk and stir (or shake) to combine.
  2. Place in the fridge overnight.
  3. When ready to serve, remove from fridge, stir in a bit more warm or room temperature water if needed and top with more grated green apple, mixed berries and fresh mint leaves.

Sunflower milk:

  1. Add ½ cup of raw sunflower seeds and blend in a Nutra bullet or powerful blender until smooth
  2. Add water until you get a milk-like consistency
  3. Enjoy also as a milk substitute
