Ingredients
- 1/3 cup quinoa flakes
- 2 tablespoons black chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon sunflower meal
- ¼ teaspoon all spice
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup water or sunflower seed milk (see below recipe) or Australia’s Own pea protein milk
- 1 small grated green apple
- ¼ tablespoon of vanilla powder or chopped mint leaves (Optional)
- Mixed berries and fresh mint leaves for garnishing
Instructions
- In a bowel or wide glass jar, add the quinoa, seeds, grated apple and spices. Top with water, sunflower seed milk or pea protein milk and stir (or shake) to combine.
- Place in the fridge overnight.
- When ready to serve, remove from fridge, stir in a bit more warm or room temperature water if needed and top with more grated green apple, mixed berries and fresh mint leaves.
Sunflower milk:
- Add ½ cup of raw sunflower seeds and blend in a Nutra bullet or powerful blender until smooth
- Add water until you get a milk-like consistency
- Enjoy also as a milk substitute
